"Operation Organization"

I love to create anything to help me stay organized and keep my life as easy as possible! I am sure you feel the same way! I have taken some time while the kids were napping each day and created two more "Teacher Look Books" and 4 "Ultimate Calendar Packs." The great news is they are all editable and a Mom or Teacher can use these packs. You can visit each item by clicking on the image below that catches your eye! "Enjoy Operation Organization!"

Throw Back Thursday: Fun in the Classroom!

Happy Thursday, well it's Saturday! I am a little late on this linky. I have been spending time with my "Little Lamb" and "Little Lion."  I'm joining Cara at The First Grade Parade for Throwback Thursday. This summer her and a few others will be linking up old post in which may be inspiring new ideas for you, but I ma new so mine will be new posts and old ideas.  After reading my post link to Cara's post through the graphic below!

I will be posting about the fun in that we have had in the classroom! I am new so this will give you a little peak into my classroom.

One of my most favorite things to do is hands on learning. What better way to do this than to play with shaving cream! The kids  love it!!!!
There is no better way than starting the school year off with shaving cream! This is a great way to make your students feel comfortable in the classroom! I always keep my shaving cream stocked!

I start out with them playing in it and drawing me something they like to draw. We then move to alphabet letters and numbers. Hint: Great informal assessment!

I hope you like this highlight and hint!

Highlight and Hint

I was playing on Pinterest this morning. If you are close to me then you know that I love me some Pinterest! It is one of the greatest inventions ever!!! All of the sudden I thought of a great highlight and hint that might help all of the teachers out there. Whenever I start a new school year or unit in the classroom I make an "Idea Board" template in a word document. I do this in Word so that I can print it off and keep it in my "Teacher Look Book" which goes everywhere with me!  You will see a picture of one that I have started for the upcoming school year.

I know what you are thinking, "This is just like Pinterest!" Yes, I know that, but I am always pinning so much that I can't even remember what I have already pinned, so I take anything I see on blogs or Pinterest and paste the picture to a Word document to remind me of the idea I like. When I need it I print it or find that picture on Pinterest and go to that specific blog or website. I even put text boxes with the idea I want to use that specific picture. When asked where I get the idea, if it is not mine, I always give reference back to the person who created the original masterpiece. I did that in the pink boxes by placing the person's blog next to the picture on my pre-planning board page.

There is just always so much going on at the beginning of the school year, especially during pre-planning! Being ADD I can't remember all of those great ideas out there!

Thanks to those who have shared the ideas on my example pre-planning idea page! Visit there blogs. You can find there blogs on the picture above!

I hope you like my highlight and hint.

New To The Blogging World

Well, I tried posting about an hour ago and the image did not show up. Thanks to Emily I found this out. Sorry to all who have visited and there was nothing there! Let me try this again. I am not promising it will be as good as the first time, but I will try my best.

My name is Melissa and I am currently a kindergarten teacher in the public school system. Teaching is a strong passion of mine and has been since I was in the sixth grade. I played pretend teacher growing up, but it wasn't until my sophomore year in high school that I knew the purpose of why God wanted me to be a teacher. I found out then it was to help each individual child that I taught to find what works for them to want to love the learning process. I was diagnosed with ADD my sophomore year. I went from C's to A's and B's after a long road of figuring this out. I had a wonderful guardian angel in the form of a teacher. She looked out after me and showed me what it was like for a teacher to take the time and help a student. When I went to college and started working i my major I found that my love for the classroom and the children grew stronger and stronger. Creating and implementing lesson plans came easy to me. I finally found something that came easy to me. It was being able to use my creativity to help children learn! My ADD now doesn't look so bad, because with having this I am able to relate and help the children I teach today!

I have a wonderful godly husband that supports whatever the Lord leads me to do! He truly is my best friend and soul mate. I also have two beautiful children that are full of life and joy! You will see their names as "Little Lamb" and "Little Lion." They keep me on my feet and smiling everyday! God is so good.

I started following a few amazing teacher's blogs about two years ago. Around the same time a friendly co-worker told me about a new website called TPT. I asked her what that was and saw the buttons on the teachers blogs that I was following. I then went on TPT and saw how amazing it really was! I have always loved creating my own activities for my classroom, but now I can share and sell them to teachers everywhere! I was so excited, but at the time I did not have the time or the energy to do so. Well now I do! I love to create and organize! These are some of my favorite things to do. What better way to do that than to start sharing what is going on in my classroom with you. I hope to have first few products up and going by the end of next week. I will be offering a freebie and a couple of newbies to my TPT store. I will also place an image here that will take you right to them. I am hoping this will become a place for me and other teachers to share hints and highlights to motivate us and our students to shine in the classroom!

Stay tuned for pictures, freebies and newbies coming your way! Also, leave a comment and follow me if you would like!
